It is quite interesting to note that the market today has great reserves of toys that can be enjoyed by both youngsters and adults. Among the best toys that fall under this category are the movie-inspired action figures and toy collectibles. These are highly popular toys these days. Several manufacturers have long been capitalizing on the use of action/sci-fi movie characters. They tend to bring the characters and their famous ensembles out of their two-dimensional world to give us the opportunity to live the characters’ lives vicariously. Just recently, toy manufacturer Lego has come up with another Star Wars toy collectible. Its Lego Star Wars Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter has thrilled fans both young and old.
Lego Star Wars Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter – 251 pieces to build a starship
If you and your child are through with playing the lightsaber duel scene from the Star Wars movie, your next option is to “fly” Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter. Lego has broken down the ship into 251 lego pieces to allow the kids to build up the famous starfighter of the Lord of the Sith. The Lego Star Wars Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter was taken from Episode IV: A New Hope where the final battle took place. The kit includes accurate details of the ship based on the blockbuster movie. It has bendable wings, flick-firing missiles and adjustable cockpit for seating Darth Vader. Yes, it also includes a mini figure of Darth Vader with his lightsaber. On the under side of the ship, you will see a mini storage for Darth Vader’s lightsaber, too.
It usually takes an hour to assemble the ship. You do not need to hurry up your kid in assembling the toy since it requires some careful assessment of the parts. It is actually easy to build but because of the numerous pieces, you will really have to take your time. Once assembled, your child can now play-act with the ship. However, due to the design and weight of the product, you may discover that some of the pieces often fall apart. One suggestion is to glue the parts that do not connect properly, or simply attach another lego piece between them.
Adult fans of Star Wars can also acquire Lego Star Wars Darth Vader’s Tie Fighter for collection purposes. Actually, this product is best for display. The ship’s design makes it difficult for the kids to play with it. They cannot “fly” the ship against a hard surface or another toy ship because it will just break up. Collectors may simply opt to display it on a bookshelf to preserve its condition.
